The Iowa Dental Board has recently been made aware of licensees receiving phone calls from an individual impersonating an investigator or staff member. The calls are made from a spoofed phone line that appears to originate from the Iowa Dental Board office.
It has been reported that the caller is asking for banking information. Please be advised that the Board will not call a dental office and demand money or use other high-pressure tactics to obtain information.

Dental offices that provided money or personal information in response to such calls should report the information to law enforcement. Additionally, dental offices can also report phishing attempts to the FBI's Internet Crime Complaint Center at https://www.ic3.gov/Home/FileComplaint.
