Board Overview

The purpose of the Appraiser Board is to examine candidates, issue certificates, investigate violations and infractions of the law and rules, revoke, suspend or administer other disciplinary sanctions to persons found to be in violation of the law and/or administrative rules.

The Board consists of seven members, two of whom shall be public members and five of whom shall be real estate appraisers. All Board members are appointed to three-year staggered terms by the Governor and are subject to confirmation by the Senate. Iowa is a voluntary certification state. Meeting and hearing agendas will be posted to the DIAL Public Meeting Calendar approximately one (1) week before the meeting date. 

  • Agendas are subject to change and may be posted no later than 24 hours before the scheduled start time of a meeting.
