IOSHA's Consultation & Education offers no-cost and confidential services to small- and medium-sized businesses in Iowa. Workplaces with high risks receive priority. Consultation services are separate from enforcement actions. Services do not lead to penalties or citations. Consultants partner with employers to:

  • Identify dangers in the workplace
  • Provide guidance to help follow OSHA standards
  • Help create and improve safety and health programs

Consultation Service Requests

We would suggest a complete review of your company's safety and health conditions and programs, however, you many request any of the following:

  • Hazard identification through an on-site visit focusing on Safety or Health
  • Review of written safety and health programs and training
  • Review OSHA 300 logs to spot trends in injury and illnesses
  • Workplace air and noise monitoring
  • Technical guidance and information

Employers can request on-site consultation services using the request form. Consultation service requests are confidential, as well as any results. Employers must correct any serious hazards identified promptly.
