The Iowa Board of Nursing approves providers of continuing education. Once approved, IBON providers may approve continuing education offerings. Iowa nurses may use credits approved by these providers. The following is a list of Iowa Board of Nursing-approved providers.

Approved Provider Application Process
To apply to be an approved continuing education provider, submit an application. There is no application fee. Applicants can apply twice within a year.
Please organize the information as specified in the application example. NOTE: Submit all application materials in triplicate hard copy. Emailed copies are not acceptable.
Fill out the Provider Application with Policy Examples.
A committee will review completed applications within 60 days. After review, the board will send a letter detailing any additions and/or revisions. The committee allows applicants two reviews OR one year to meet provider criteria. If denied, there is a one-year waiting period before reapplying.
If approved, the provider status lasts for five years. The board sends re-approval applications six months before the expiration date.
