Application information and documentation required for a demonstration or not-for-profit temporary permit in Iowa. 

An applicant must submit the application no less than 30 days before the start date of the event.

Fee

The application fee is calculated as follows:

  • $42 for the first day; and 
  • $12 for each additional day. A temporary permit may not exceed 12 days in total.

Limitations

  • The permit will be issued for a specific event and may be issued to:
    • An establishment;
    • School of barbering and cosmetology arts & sciences; or 
    • A person.
  • The permit must be posted and visible to the public at the location where the barbering and cosmetology services are provided.
  • A person providing barbering and cosmetology services at a not-for-profit event must hold a current barbering & cosmetology license.
