The Workers’ Compensation Division (WCD) releases annual rate information for mileage reimbursement and the following types of weekly workers’ compensation benefits:
Temporary total disability (TTD)
Healing period (HP)
Permanent partial disability (PPD)
Permanent total disability (PTD)
Death
The rate information on this page applies to work injuries or travel occurring between the above dates. The table has historical rate information.

The maximum and minimum weekly workers’ compensation rates are calculated using the SAWW determined by Iowa Workforce Development (IWD).
For injuries from July 1, 2024, through June 30, 2025:

For injuries from July 1, 2025, through June 30, 2026:
$1,174.98
The maximum weekly rate depends on the type of benefit. An injured employee’s weekly benefit rate is based on 80% of the employee’s weekly spendable earnings but may not exceed the maximum weekly rate at the time of injury.
For injuries from July 1, 2024, through June 30, 2025:
TTD, HP, PTD, & Death Benefits: $2,274.00
PPD Benefits: $2,092.00
For injuries from July 1, 2025, through June 30, 2026:

TTD & HP Benefits: Lower of $398.00 or Injured Employee’s Spendable Earnings

The minimum weekly rate depends on the type of benefit. For TTD and HP benefits, it is an amount equal to either 35% of the SAWW or the injured employee’s spendable earnings. For PPD, PTD, and death benefits, it is an amount equal to 35% of the SAWW.
For injuries from July 1, 2024, through June 30, 2025:
TTD & HP Benefits: Lower of $398.00 or Injured Employee’s Spendable Earnings
PPD, PTD, & Death Benefits: $398.00
For injuries from July 1, 2025, through June 30, 2026:
TTD & HP Benefits: Lower of $411.00 or Injured Employee’s Spendable Earnings

For injuries from July 1, 2024, through June 30, 2025:
Greater of $1,592.08 or Amount Equal to Compensation the Worker Would Be Paid If Injured in Normal Course of Regular Employment
For injuries from July 1, 2025, through June 30, 2026:
Greater of $1,644.97 or Amount Equal to Compensation the Worker Would Be Paid If Injured in Normal Course of Regular Employment
The official may choose either the weekly benefit rate based on the official’s weekly earnings as an official or an amount equal to 140% of the SAWW.
For injuries from July 1, 2024, through June 30, 2025:
$1,592.08 or Weekly Rate Based on Earnings as Official
For injuries from July 1, 2025, through June 30, 2026:
$1,644.97 or Weekly Rate Based on Earings as Official
For mileage incidental to the use of a private auto to travel for care, the per-mile rate is the rate allowed by the federal Internal Revenue Service (IRS) for the business standard mileage rate in effect on July 1 of each year.
From July 1, 2024, through June 30, 2025:
$0.67 Per Mile
From July 1, 2025, through June 30, 2026:
$0.70 Per Mile
