Applying for a new license from May 1 – June 30 in the last year of the licensing period? Your fees are the Jan. 1 – June 30 (Year 3) prorated fee plus the full license fee.  This new license will be valid for the rest of the current period, plus the entire following licensing period

Renewal Period & Fees

  • Renewal for your following licensing period opens May 1, year 3 in the licensing period.
  • Your license expires after Jun. 30, year 3 in the licensing period.
  • Late fees start Aug. 1, year 1 in the licensing period.

Contractor Fees

Your contractor license and registration fees are submitted together in the same application. This joint application is submitted to the Plumbing & Mechanical Systems Board.

Reinstatement

Has your license lapsed for more than 1 year?  It must be reinstated. 

Reinstating licenses:

  • Don't qualify for the multiple-license discount.
  • Pay the Full License Fee for each license.

All CEUs for reinstatement must be taken:

  • After year 1 in the current licensing period, when less than 2 years remain in the licensing period.
  • After year 1 in the previous licensing period, when more than 2 years remain in the licensing period.

You can reinstate by passing the applicable exam instead of taking CEUs. To sit for an exam, submit an exam approval application.

After you reinstate a license, it will be valid until the end of the current licensing period.

Multiple License Discount

Applying for multiple licenses? Your license fees can qualify for a 30% discount.

Applicable License Fees

The discount can apply to the license fees of 2 or more of these licenses:

  • Journeyperson
  • Master
  • Contractor

Qualifications

To qualify for the discount, all licenses you're applying for must:

  • Belong to the same individual, and
  • Not be lapsed for more than one year

Exclusions

The 30% discount does not apply to:

  • $25.00 Paper application fee
  • $150.00 Contractor Registration fee
  • Late fees

Online Applications:

You must complete all applications on the same day to qualify for the discount.

If you have a contractor and individual license:

  1. Start with your contractor license renewal.
  2. Stop when the contractor renewal asks for payment.
  3. Start your individual license application.
  4. Pay the individual application fee(s).
  5. Go back to your contractor license and pay the application fees.

Paper Applications:

You must mail all of your application forms and fees together to qualify for the discount.

Calculate the multiple-license discount by following these steps:

  1. Sum the amount of your Journeyperson, Master, and/or Contractor license fees.
  2. Multiply this total by 0.7
  3. Add the $25 paper application fee.
    1. One paper application fee per individual
  4. Add the $150 Contractor Registration fee. (Only if you are renewing a Contractor License)
  5. Add late fees. (If applicable)

Paper applications with the incorrect fees will be mailed back.
