DIAL's Investigations Division initiates collections of debts owed to the Iowa Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) as a result of overpayments made to recipients of the State’s public assistance programs, including Medicaid, Family Investment Program (FIP), Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), Promise Jobs, Hawk-i, IowaCare, Child Care Assistance, and Divestiture.

The division also handles inquiries related to tax refunds, child care checks, or lottery winnings being held as a result of delinquent accounts.
