Rulemaking Update

Iowa Administrative Code (IAC) 481—Chapter 573 has been updated to better clarify the continuing education requirements for renewal. Courses that meet the requirements for acceptance will be awarded credit based on clock hour. (i.e. 1 hour = 1 hour credit; 2 hours = 2 hours credit)

  • Providers may offer courses that are ineligible for credit; however, that information should be made clear so that interested parties may make informed decisions about attendance.
  • Licensees and registrants are responsible for ensuring that the continuing education hours reported at renewal meets the requirements for credit.
