USP announced the launch of eLearning courses for compounding professionals, based on the recently revised General Chapters (<795> and <797>) which are anticipated to become official on December 1, 2019.
These courses are written by experts some of who are members of the USP Compounding Expert Committee. These courses are practice-centric and designed for Compounding Professionals who are responsible for the expert understanding and implementation of USP Standards for quality compounding and safe handling of hazardous drugs. The United States Pharmacopoeia (USP) finalized revisions to General Chapters related to the practice of pharmacy and compounding. General Chapters <795>, <797>, <800>, and <825> have been completed and will become official on 12/1/19; compliance with these chapters will be required as of that date by references in Iowa Administrative Code. The text of these revisions may be obtained from USP at www.usp.org. As USP generally charges for access to General Chapters, please download the text promptly, as a date when free downloads will no longer be available has not been published.
