Rulemaking action by the Iowa Board of Pharmacy has been published in the Iowa Administrative Bulletin as follows:
ARC 4483C has been published as a Notice of Intended Action to amend Chapter 33, “Military Service and Veteran Reciprocity,” Iowa Administrative Code.

The proposed amendments are intended to implement House File 288, enacted by the 2019 Iowa Legislature.

House File 288 requires agencies to establish procedures to expedite the licensing of an individual who is licensed in a similar profession or occupation in another state and who is the spouse of an active duty service member.

The proposed amendments add the term “spouse” to applicable rules and proposes to allow the issuance of a 90-day provisional license to allow a pharmacist applicant by license transfer to take and pass the MPJE.

ARC 4484C has been published as a Notice of Intended Action to rescind Chapter 31, “Student Loan Default or Noncompliance with Agreement for Payment of Obligation,” and amend Chapter 36, “Discipline,” Iowa Administrative Code.

The proposed amendments are intended to implement Senate File 304, enacted by the 2019 Iowa Legislature.

Senate File 304 prohibits licensing agencies from taking disciplinary action against a licensee solely for being in default of a student loan or noncompliance with an agreement for payment obligation.
